Please note the location change for our first soccer games of the season. The games scheduled for Friday, August 15, 2025 were originally scheduled to be played in Central Aroostook, however they will now be played in Washburn at 5:00 and 7:00.
With the beginning of school comes the return of the Bike Bus! We will start up again this Friday - please read the flyer carefully as there are a few changes, including having one starting spot.

Due to the extreme heat index for tomorrow, Tuesday, August 12th the middle school games have been postponed and have been rescheduled to Monday, August 25, 2025.
Due to the extreme heat index advisory, ALL soccer practices for both middle school and high school have been cancelled Monday, August 11, 2025.
The Open House scheduled for Monday, 8/11/25 will be postponed due to the extreme heat advisory. Please join us on Thursday, 8/14/25 from 5:30 - 6:30pm.

5th grade boys and girls are invited to come to soccer practices on Thursday. If your child is interested, but is not able to come to this practice, please contact the coach and let them know.

Soccer is ready to go at Washburn District Elementary! Michael Langley and Erica Whitaker will be the coaches for the middle school and practices will begin on Wednesday, August 6 from 2:30 - 4:00. There will be a parent meeting Friday on the field at 4:00. If there is room, fifth graders will be notified Thursday.

Don't forget - our last Bike Bus is Friday and we are ALL meeting at Dollar General at 7:15 to follow the fire truck to school.
Thursday is the last day of school for 8th graders. They will have their promotion at 6:30pm tonight. Those that are in softball and baseball are welcome to come to the 9:00am assembly Friday with their families to receive their sports awards.
All are welcome to attend our 8th Grade Promotional on Thursday at 6:30pm.

WDES Fun Day is Tuesday, June 10. Please send your child to school dressed and ready for being outside most of the day. The PTO will be providing some new bounce houses this year - we are very excited for that!
