A reminder that WDHS Fall Sports Awards will be held on tonight, November 15, at 6:30 pm. Awards will take place in the High School gym.

Several schools in Maine have received calls today regarding school shootings in their buildings. Fort Fairfield Middle/High School is the only school in our area to receive such a call. These calls have been determined to be a hoax and the State Police are currently investigating this.
Washburn Schools HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY THREATENING PHONE CALLS TODAY dealing with school shootings.
We have reviewed our safety protocols and the Washburn Police have monitored the situation and our schools today as a precautionary measure. We will continue to monitor the situation and will inform everyone of details as they emerge.
Thank You,
Larry Worcester
Superintendent, MSAD #45

The seniors led the way as Chris Tardie scored a hat trick, Kaiden Rosi-Carney added two assists, Derek Cruz recorded 6 saves, and Braden Elliott played lock-down defense as Washburn rolled over Ashland by a score of 6-3 on Senior Night. Junior Roegan Rosi-Carney tallied three goals and an assist and Freshman Brayden Worsley added an assist as the Beavers capped off their season with a well-earned win and the program’s first victory under the home field lights!

Dress warm and cheer on our Beavers for their last regular season game vs. the Hornets. Please note the change in start times this evening. We will be recognizing our Senior Athletes tonight, from both soccer teams and XC teams at 3:45pm prior to the boys game.

Congratulations to the Lady Beavers on their 3-0 win against the Lady Cougars of Katahdin. The scoring was opened up by Maddy Johnston to bring the score in the first half 1-0. After some adjustments at halftime, Madison Elliott came out of the gate to notch the second goal of the game just seven minutes into the the half. With ten minutes left to go in the game, Chelsea Hobbs cemented the win scoring the final goal. We can’t report the game without commenting about the tough defense that was played. Our defensive line, along with the midfield, held Katahdin to just 6 shots.
The final games of the regular season will be Monday, 10/17 with the boys playing at 4:00pm and the girls at 6:00pm. We will recognize our seniors as well.

Dress warm and join us tonight as the Beavers take the field at home against the Panthers.
