Beginning July 1, 2021, face masks will become optional at school and on buses for all students, staff and visitors. This will also apply to our current Summer Program.

All MSAD #45 Schools will be dismissed at 12:00 p.m. today, June 8, 2021, due to the high heat index and extreme building temperatures. There will be no after-school activities or afternoon Pre-K classes.
Due to extreme heat, all MSAD #45 schools will be released at 11:30 a.m.
All after school activities have been canceled.

The Washburn Ministerial will be hosting a Baccalaureate service for the class of 2021, Sunday, May 30, 2021 in the Washburn District High School gymnasium at 6:00pm. All are welcome to attend.

There will be a Fiscal Year 2022 Finance Budget workshop on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 6:00pm in the cafeteria at the Elementary school.

Our next and final senior in the spotlight is Joseph West. He is the son of Jane West. Joseph is the quiet member of the class. In his free time at school, he can often be found working in the shop with Mr. Hanson. His favorite class has been Fitness. Joseph has many hobbies he enjoys, but his favorites are welding, rock picking and playing video games. Joseph's future plans involve the military. He is currently in the process to enlist in the United States Air Force. He leaves WDHS with this quote from the legendary Frank Sinatra, "The best revenge is massive success." Congratulations Joseph, WDHS wishes you all the best!

Our next senior in the spotlight is Emerson Turner. She is the daughter of Bradly and Erin Turner. Emerson is a member of the Varsity Club and NHS and has participated on the XC, Soccer, and Basketball teams as well as softball and track. She enjoys hiking and hanging out with her friends and has been a tremendous help to her community through volunteering. The last two years, Emerson has participated in the Early Childhood program through the Presque Isle Regional Career and Tech. Center and has been selected student of the quarter. Emerson will be attending the University of Maine at Presque Isle in the fall majoring in Elementary Education. She leaves WDHS with this quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson, "To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment."
