All MSAD #45 Schools will be dismissed at 12:00 p.m. today, June 8, 2021, due to the high heat index and extreme building temperatures. There will be no after-school activities or afternoon Pre-K classes.

Due to extreme heat, all MSAD #45 schools will be released at 11:30 a.m.
All after school activities have been canceled.

The Washburn Ministerial will be hosting a Baccalaureate service for the class of 2021, Sunday, May 30, 2021 in the Washburn District High School gymnasium at 6:00pm. All are welcome to attend.


There will be a Fiscal Year 2022 Finance Budget workshop on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 6:00pm in the cafeteria at the Elementary school.

Our next and final senior in the spotlight is Joseph West. He is the son of Jane West. Joseph is the quiet member of the class. In his free time at school, he can often be found working in the shop with Mr. Hanson. His favorite class has been Fitness. Joseph has many hobbies he enjoys, but his favorites are welding, rock picking and playing video games. Joseph's future plans involve the military. He is currently in the process to enlist in the United States Air Force. He leaves WDHS with this quote from the legendary Frank Sinatra, "The best revenge is massive success." Congratulations Joseph, WDHS wishes you all the best!

Our next senior in the spotlight is Emerson Turner. She is the daughter of Bradly and Erin Turner. Emerson is a member of the Varsity Club and NHS and has participated on the XC, Soccer, and Basketball teams as well as softball and track. She enjoys hiking and hanging out with her friends and has been a tremendous help to her community through volunteering. The last two years, Emerson has participated in the Early Childhood program through the Presque Isle Regional Career and Tech. Center and has been selected student of the quarter. Emerson will be attending the University of Maine at Presque Isle in the fall majoring in Elementary Education. She leaves WDHS with this quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson, "To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment." This spotlight shines on Brooklyn Tupper. She is the daughter of Chris Tupper and Kori McManus. Brooklyn was a big part of this year's yearbook, selling ads as well as creating several pages. Her favorite hobby is shopping. Not only has Brooklyn maintained honor roll status through out her high school career, she has participated as a manager for a few years for the soccer team as well as held down a job. To add to this, Brooklyn attend the nursing program at Caribou Regional Career and Tech. Center this year, where she obtained her CNA certification. She plans to continue in the healthcare field attending the University of Maine at Presque Isle majoring in nursing. This spotlight shines on Brianna Turner. She is the daughter of Ward and Christine Turner. Early on in her school career, Brianna participated in soccer, XC, and basketball. However, she decided to set those aside to focus on her academics and reach a personal goal of being invited into NHS. Not only was she invited, she was also accepted, for which she is most proud. Her favorite hobbies are traveling and hiking. Brianna will be attending the University of Maine at Presque Isle majoring in nursing. She has a goal of becoming a labor and delivery nurse. This spotlight shines on Patrick Tardie II. He is the son of Paul and Yvonne Tardie. Patrick is the Salutatorian of the Class of 2021 and the recipient of the MPA Principal's award. He is also member of the NHS. Patrick is a longtime member of Boy Scout Troop 177 where he as been promoted to Junior Assistant Scoutmaster. Academically, Patrick has done outstanding earning many highest achievements. However, his passion is music. He is an active member in the band and chorus programs at school where he has been selected to participate in the All-Aroostook band and chorus festivals . His favorite hobby is playing his bass. Patrick will be attending Maine Maritime Academy majoring in Marine Biology. Patrick leaves WDHS with this quote from Matthew Bellamy, "As soon as you pick up a guitar, you're up against the legends of rock." Congratulations Patrick! WDHS is excited to see where your journey leads you.

The spotlight shines on Bowden Tate. He is the son of Josh and Sarah Tate. Bowden is a member of the Varsity Club, Basketball and Baseball teams. He has also been a participant in the Woodworking Club. Bowden almost always has a smile on his face, which often times, means he's up to something. His favorite subjects in school have been P.E. and Fitness class and his favorite hobby is disc golf. Bowden will be attending the University of Maine at Presque Isle in the fall majoring in Criminal Justice. " Congratulations Bowden! WDHS wishes you all the success!

The next senior in the spotlight is Reed Plummer. He is the son of Trina Farley & Mitchell Knight and William Plummer. Reed has a love for technology. When not playing video games, he spends his time trying to "hack stuff" and his favorite class has been 3D printing. With this in mind, it is no surprise that Reed's plans are to attend the University of Maine at Presque Isle in the fall concentrating in cyber security. Reed leaves WDHS with this quote from Steve Carell, "In the words of John Lennon, 'You may say I'm a dreamer,' but I'm not." WDHS is proud of you Reed!
