Recently, members of Washburn's Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter had the opportunity to attend the State Convention held between the University of Maine at Presque Isle and Northern Maine Community College.  At this event, FFA Chapters from around the state competed in various events, took part in tours of area businesses, and more.

Washburn FFA President, Parker Corey, was presented the Washington Leadership Conference Scholarship.  This scholarship provides him the ability to attend the Leadership Conference later in June at the Nation's Capitol.

Our FFA program did very well in the events they competed in.  Damien DuMont took part in the individual Prepared Public Speaking competition where he won 1st place.  Kristin Bragg participated in the Horse Evaluation where she placed 2nd.
In a team competition, members Natalie Charette, Christopher Tardie, and Damien DuMont placed 2nd in the Agri-Business competition.
