On Thursday, January 30, 2020, the Washburn Beavers basketball teams played in honor of cancer survivors, those who have fought, and those who are currently fighting cancer. Each player wore the name of a family member, friend, or community member that they were “playing for.” They were also raising money to send to the Cancer Center at Cary Medical center. They raised over $250, but don’t want to stop there. They have a goal to raise $500. We will still be taking donations all next week and at our final home game on Wednesday, February 5.
