Isaac Sines of Washburn, a senior at Washburn District High School, has been selected to receive the 2026 Principal's Award. Principal Lawrence Worcester announced today. The award, sponsored by the Maine Principal's Association, is given in recognition of high school senior's academic achievement and citizenship.
Throughout his years at Washburn District High School, Isaac has distinguished himself as an honor roll student. He is also; president of the National Honor Society, president of Student Council, captain of our soccer and basketball teams in addition to participating in cross country, track, baseball and volleyball.
Isaac, along with Mr. Worcester, the other award winners and their principals' will attend the Honors Luncheon on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Jeff's Catering at 12:30 p.m.
The Honors Luncheon recognizes the outstanding students with the presentation of an individual plaque and the awarding of ten $1,000 scholarships in the names of former Maine Principals and MPA Executive Directors: Horace O. McGowan, Richard W. Tyler and Richard A. Durost.
The Principal's Award is presented in more than 100 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the MPA, the professional association which represents Maine's school administrators.
