On Friday, February 2nd MSAD 45 recognized Ron Ericson for his 48 years of service in a celebration between the girls and boys basketball games.
Mr. Ericson served for 48 years in MSAD 45 as Teacher, Coach, Assistant
Principal, Principal and Athletic Director. Ron’s teams amassed over 300
victories in soccer and basketball. The Girls’ Basketball teams that he
coached, won 4 State Championships and made 6 Regional Final
appearances. Washburn District High School has won 13 State
Championships with Ron coaching or as the Athletic Director for the
school. He is a member of the Legends Sports Hall of Fame, Chairman of
the Classes B, C and D Maine Principals Association Basketball Committee
and Secretary for the Aroostook League.
Assistant Principal/Athletic Director Cummings presented Mr. Ericson with a basketball signed by members of the girls and boys basketball teams, along with a plaque and gift certificate.
Following the boys game there was a reception held in his honor.
