Principal Worcester and Washburn District High School staff are proud to announce Derek Cruz as the March Student of the Month and Kaiden Rosi-Carney as the April Student of the Month.  Both young men are from this year's graduating class.

Cruz, a senior, has been an active member of the school's community participating in every sport offered, lending a hand in the yearbook, being a member of the Varsity Club, and more.  Derek pushes himself in the classroom, to which he was honored by being inducted into the school's chapter of the National Honor Society.  He is a kind, hardworking young man, who often puts others needs ahead of his own.  In April, Derek was recognized by the Presque Isle Rotary as the Service Above Self Youth Recipient.  During the school year, Derek also achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in Boy Scout Troop 177.  He has accomplished all of this while working a part-time job.  We are proud of you Derek, and are excited to see where your future takes you.

Rosi-Carney, a senior and the son of Justin and Alisa Carney has also been an active member of the school's community while maintaining a part-time job throughout most of his high school career.  In the fall, Kaiden was recognized for his efforts in soccer and xc being named an All-Aroostook athlete in both sports.  He was also recognized as All-Regional in soccer.  Though, a man of few words, he has a great sense of humor, is reliable, and is a hard worker.  He has taken advantage of course offerings at Presque Isle Tech Center, completing every course the  AgriScience program has to offer.  Kaiden will be interning with Seven Island Land Co this summer and attending UMFK in the fall for their Forestry program.  Congratulations Kaiden, we look forward to hearing of your continued success.
