Visit to the James School

Mrs. Thompkin’s 4th grade class visited the James School in Presque Isle, Maine. The James School is a one-room schoolhouse built in 1917, and used until 1948. After use as a small church and it’s later abandonment, the James School was restored in 1985. Today classes can visit the old school house and learn about student life in the early 1900’s. Mrs. Thompkin’s class had a lot of fun learning about Flag Day, how a one-room schoolhouse operated, and ringing the school bell!
