Dear Parents,
This week we met Mr. Bb with the Beautiful Buttons. We practiced his sound and letter. We also celebrated St. Patrick’s Day on Wednesday with lots of fun activities about Leprechauns.
We spent lots of time working with positional words, like – beside, above, below, under, between, in, out and others. It would be great practice to have your child continue to work on these at home.
Mrs. Wilson, from the Cooperative Extension, visited on Thursday to teach us about planting veggies and the importance of them in our daily diets. The children had a good time!!!
SPRING is definitely on its way and we are getting more excited each day. We have been working on some great spring projects for Moms and Dads to see on Conference Day. I will send home your Conference time next week and look forward to meeting with each of you on March 29, 2010.

Planting our garden.....

Dear Parents,
WOW!!! This week we have been BUSY!!!
On Monday, we continued our Veggie Unit. We made our very own pickles and sampled them at snack time. We put the finishing touches on our hallway bulletin board. It is a vegetable garden full of yummy veggies. Mrs. Smith even helped us make a BEAUTIFUL garden quilt that is on display in the hall, also. There are pictures of our board and quilt on the school web page.
On Tuesday we celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday with an AWESOME pajama party. We all wore our pj’s and enjoyed many silly books. Mr. Bragg came and read GREEN EGGS AND HAM to our classes. At snack we ate GREEN EGGS and HAM. The children LOVED it!!!!
On Wednesday we worked on writing numbers 3 and 4. We also cleaned our Play Centers and had a ball with our friends.
On Thursday we went to ART with Mrs. Walker, worked on letter Dd and talked LOTS about DIRT.
On Friday, we went to the gym. FUN!!!! We also had Reading Buddies with our Grade 3 friends. At snack time we made and ate DIRT CUPS – worms and all!!!!
