how do i access online databases? From the Library Home Page: http://www.msad45.net/Library/libraryindex.htm
Databases are actually huge repositories of information collected from books, newspapers, magazines, journals, encyclopedias, other reference books, pamphlets, graphics, media, etc. All of this information is collected centrally where it can be searched, retrieved and used for research projects.
Make sure you go to the library to pick up your Pocket Reference Card so that you have the usernames and passwords for each site. Since you can use all of the resources (except Columbia Travel Guide) at home If you are having problems with access, let me know right away. MARVEL is the state database which we receive for free. The rest are paid subscriptions which will have user name and password log-in screens.
Since we do pay for these databases, each site will ask us to type in the assigned user name and password. Do not try to search for the database site on line as you normally will not be able to access our school log in page. Make a habit of clicking from the WDHS library site.
